V-Belts

Meaning

V belt is a flexible rubber belt used to link more than one machinery. It is also known as transmission belts. It is used to transmit power efficiency.

Constructional Features of V belts:

Rubber: The rubber also acts as a compression medium to absorb the shocks during power transmission.

Steel Wire: They provide the necessary boosting and strength to the V-Belt for transmission of the power.

Cover:  It Works as a protective layer of plastic against high temperature.

Usually V belts are classified into 5 sections on the bases of cross sectional size:

  1. A Section
  2. B section
  3. C Section
  4. D Section
  5. E section
